My Happy Weekend
I have been SUPER busy the past few weeks. School has been difficult to keep up with and work… well, I'm not even going to start with that. For the past two weeks, I've been working on setting up the school carnival (I'm the PTO President at Merceydeis' school). It was a LONG road, but the carnival was a HUGE success last Friday. My legs were SO sore the next day… I don't think I've ever stood that long before in my life. Needless to say, it was such a relief when it was over. So, I deserved a weekend of scrapping.
This was one of my projects. Of all the altered items I have, I don't have my 'name' displayed anywhere. So, I bought some wood letters and painted them pink (I have a new obsession with pink). Then I adhered patterned paper to the front of the letters and sanded the edges. I used butterfly rub-ons, but was foolish and didn't budget my butterflies well because the "A" looks sad without one. Finally, I crackled the letters for a distressed look. What do you think? I was pretty happy with them.
So, I spent all weekend locked in my scrapbook room. It was absolutely divine! So much stress flowed right off my shoulders, my mind cleared and… well, you all know the feeling! I am so excited, too, because I got SO much done… more than I normally do. Anyway, my scrap room is officially a disastor. I usually clean and straighten everything up after doing my work, but… I left my OCD tendencies behind and left it.
Now that I look at the picture, it doesn't look that bad… but it REALLY is. There is stuff everywhere and a bunch of very "little" things are lying all over the place, i.e. brads, eyelets, bottles of crackle, glimmermists, punchies, stickles… I think I've pulled everything out this weekend.
I hope you are doing well and are getting some papercrafting done. Take care and see you soon!
