Dry Emobssing Techniques

I have 3 dry embossing techniques for you to try .  So, get out your embossing machine and let’s get to work!  (I’m using my Cuttlebug.)  Let’s start with the first one…. Versamark.

2

Emboss your with your choice of cardstock and your choice of embossing card.  I chose a birthday style for this one.

3

Get out your VersaMark stamp pad and rub it all over the embossed (raised part) cardstock.

4

This is what  you’ll end up with!

5

See how that VersaMark makes it POP!  How cool and EASY is that technique?!  Now… on to the next one… Sanding.

7

Emboss with your choice of cardstock and your choice of embossing card.  I chose a flowery style for this one.

8

Get out your sanding block and sand all over the embossed (raised part) cardstock.  You can use any type of sanding material (like a nail file), though I find the block is easier for this type of work.  This is what you’ll end up with.

9

Totally cool, huh?!  Who would’ve thought you could bring out embossing this way??  Now, on to the last one… Brayering.

11

Emboss with your choice of cardstock and your choice of embossing card.  I chose some swirlies for this one.

12

Get out your brayer and some ink.  I find that Brilliance works best for this.  Now, this is a little different than the first two.  You will be brayering the opposite side… NOT the raised side!  You need to brayer the inverted side (raised side down).

14

This is what you’ll end up with.

15

Another splendid idea!!  Fabulous!  How cool is that?!  Not only is this a cool embossing technique, it’s also a cool brayering technique!  So, here’s what we’ve got.

16

Can you tell I like purple??  And here are the simple cards I came up with for each of these projects…
